Description

The Centre for Sustainability Leadership has parterend with Make Change Happen to provide training to help support you as you continue on your change making journeys.

Make Change Happen will provide a structure for practicing your skills and receiving feedback as you continue to develop your projects, broaden your network and take action on the issues that matter to you.

You'll get a tool kit with tools from sustainability leaders and community organisers around the world and an ongoing framework to grow your capacity to create change with your projects. This will be particularly important so you can continue to be supported beyond the duration of the RELP.

Join project co-founder and CSL Alumna Jen Halldorsson for a day of free training, learning and laughs on 23 August from 9:30 - 4:30 pm (prior to the graduation) at the Byron Shire Council Chambers, on the roundabout on Station Street, Mullumbimby.

Please RSVP by Friday 15 August, 2014 for catering purposes.

Testamonials from former Make Change Happen participants:

"The [Make Change Happen] sessions and the tool kit really helped me focus on my project and start looking into areas I haven't developed very deeply. Some examples are:

- getting clearer on the strengths and market opportunities the project has
- reviewing the target audience and re-focus on key audiences
- strengthening my message to my audience
- and generally getting the confidence that the idea has legs through positive feedback from the group

The group sessions really help staying in a space of enthusiasm and energy to move ideas and projects forward. The tool kit is a great way to develop a project forward or getting out of a dead end that I might be stuck in from time to time. Generally great idea, great tools, great input and run by great people. Thanks!”

"As the environment officer for the newly renovated [University department], there is a great demand for creating and installing some greenery on campus. The [Make Change Happen] program has been integral in supporting and encouraging the pursuing of a community garden. After consulting with heads of faculty and the Dean, I was given the green light to go forth and create movable, vertical gardens - we are about to order the materials. In particular, the visioning tools have been really helpful in shaping what I want to see in place of what exists there now. The coming together of different minds in the [Make Change Happen] program allows me access to architects, horticulturalists and business people (to name a few) who have been generous in sharing their knowledge and advice. But so too have I given my full attention to other projects - and thus there is a great symbiosis in the group between giving, sharing and receiving.”

This program has been assisted by the New South Wales Government through its Environmental Trust.
